Themes

Graphite by default, Paper when the room is bright.

The studio comes in two themes. Graphite is dark and is the default; Paper is light. Choose either under Settings › Appearance, and the choice is remembered in this browser and restored before the page paints, so there is no flash on reload. Every colour in the interface, from the seams between sections to the meters, is defined once per theme, so nothing is left behind when you switch.

When to use it

Graphite suits long sessions and dim rooms and keeps meters and waveforms vivid. Paper suits daylight, a bright studio, or reading a piano roll on a tablet by a window. The choice is comfort, not a different set of features: every surface exists in both.

Controls

Graphite · Dark

The default. Instrument panels, the rack, the mixer and the editors share one dark family of surfaces; sections stack full width and are separated by a single seam tone rather than borders.

Paper · Light

The page, editors, menus and controls use warm, light surfaces. Instrument panels become pale tinted paper: the synth keeps its blue tint and the drums their warm tint, with dark text and light controls.

Accent

Under Settings › Appearance › Accent, choose Blue, Violet, Magenta, Cyan, Teal or Green. Blue is the default. The accent marks primary actions, settings that are on and keyboard focus; it stays the same when you switch themes.

Selection and status

A selected clip, note or mixer strip gets a contrasting edge while keeping its track colour. A selected track header becomes lighter. Choices such as tools and waveform buttons use a contrasting neutral fill. Record stays red and Solo stays yellow; Mute uses the neutral chosen state.

Track colours

Track colours are their own family and keep their hue in both themes, so the red vocal track is still the red one after you switch.

Where the choice lives

The theme and accent are browser preferences, not part of the project. A project opened on another machine shows with that machine’s appearance choices.

Tips

  • Set it once; every project in this browser follows.
  • Switching is instant and touches neither the audio nor the project’s undo history.
