Guide · Interface

Interface scale

Make everything larger on a dense screen or smaller on a small one.

View › Scale resizes the whole studio in steps from 75 to 200 percent. Everything follows together: text, knobs, the piano roll grid, the mixer strips, menus and popups, so a 4K monitor can show the interface at a comfortable size and a small laptop can fit a full mix on one screen. The setting is remembered in this browser and applied before the page paints.

When to use it

Go up on high-resolution monitors where the default renders small, or when you work from a distance. Go down on a small laptop or a tablet when the mixer or an instrument panel does not fit, instead of scrolling. 100 percent is the designed size; the other steps are the same layout, larger or smaller.

Controls

View › Scale

A submenu with 75, 85, 100, 115, 130, 150, 175 and 200 percent. The menu title shows the current value. Picking a step closes the menu and rescales the page at once. Steps above 100 percent that would leave the studio less than about 360 pixels wide wait for a wider window, so on a phone 100 percent is the largest. A step chosen on a wider screen comes back when the window is wide enough again.

What follows the scale

Layout, drawing surfaces, menus, dialogs and the editors’ pointer handling are all in the scaled space, so dragging a note, a clip edge or an automation point lands where you point at every step. The text hierarchy is preserved; only its overall size changes.

Where the choice lives

The scale is a browser preference like the theme, not part of the project. A project opened on another machine shows at that machine’s scale.

Tips

  • If a panel only just clips on a small screen, try one step down before changing the layout.
  • At large scales in a narrow window a submenu may open above its parent to stay on screen; that is expected.
  • A step that needs a wider window is greyed out in the menu, with a note saying so.

Phones get a scale that fits, a piano roll in view and quieter knobs · 18 October 2026

View › Scale no longer offers a step that would leave the studio less than about 360 pixels wide, so on a phone 100 percent is the largest; a larger step chosen on a wider screen comes back there. Opening the piano roll from the places menu on a phone now brings its grid into view, a knob's value bubble goes away when your finger lifts, and the sketch banner keeps off the screen's edge again. A full chain library says it is full instead of showing the browser's own message, the sound shelf counts one lane or one sound correctly, and Normalize with nothing selected says it normalized the file.
